The Best Director Award will be given to the best fiction film
Hannah Pilarczyk was born in Hamburg in 1977 and has been a cultural desk editor at SPIEGEL ONLINE since 2009. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Verband der deutschen Filmkritik (German Film Critics’ Association), the Marburger Kamerapreis (Marburg Cinematography Prize), and the Board of Trustees of the Haus des Dokumentarfilms (Documentary Film Center). She is the editor of the 2012 volume Ich hatte die Zeit meines Lebens. Über den Film ‘Dirty Dancing’ und seine Bedeutung (I had the time of my life. On the film ‘Dirty Dancing’ and its relevance), which takes up the film’s Jewish background, among other topics.
Kira Taszmangrew up in Berlin and Paris and studied German and Slavic Studies. A member of the Verband der deutschen Filmkritik (German Film Critics’ Association), she is a translator and film journalist focusing on French and Eastern European films. She has published in Nürnberger Zeitung, Neues Deutschland, taz, filmecho/filmwoche, Screen International, Die Welt, and Sächsische Zeitung, among other publications.
Marlyn Vinig´s book Ultra-Orthodox Cinema was the first to examine Haredi film as a genre. She is currently completing her doctorate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She has been reviewing films for the website saloona.co.il for six years. Marlyn Vinig has served in numerous public positions and bodies and is a member of the Israeli Film Fund. She has also published two volumes of poetry.
