Nicola Galliner, born in London in 1950, has lived in Berlin since 1969. She directed the Jewish Adult Education Center of the Jewish Community of Berlin from 1988 to 2008 and is the initiator, founder, and director of the Jewish Film Festival Berlin & Brandenburg (1995- 2020). She is the editor or co-editor of numerous publications including Wegweiser durch das jüdische Berlin (Nicolai Verlag 1988), Jewish Film Festival Berlin—Die ersten zehn Jahre (be.bra verlag 2004), and Celebration!—25 Years Jewish Film Festival Berlin & Brandenburg (Neofelis Verlag 2019). Nicola Galliner has served on the juries of various film festivals including the International Film Festival Jerusalem, the Haifa International Film Festival, the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival, the Britspotting Film Festival, and the FilmFestival Cottbus. She was awarded the Order of Merit of the Land Brandenburg in 2018.





Dr. Eva Lezzi, a freelance writer, lives in Berlin. She habilitated in literary and cultural studies, and established and directed the multimedia art program dagesh of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Scholarship Foundation for outstanding Jewish students from 2016 to 2019. She cooperated with the JFBB a number of times in this context. Eva Lezzi lends a literary voice especially to children’s and young people’s transcultural experiences through her books for children and adolescents. Her book for young readers Kalter Hund and the 4th volume of the children’s book series about the Jewish boy Beni, illustrated by Anna Adam, will be published in spring 2021.
